No More International Call Charges with Voip.

By Saul Saresi

So the decision has been made, and you are now the proud owner of an IP telephone system complete with your very own specialised Voip phone. You're feeling good about things, such as all the money you'll now be saving each time you make a call, and how good it will be to talk to people with perfect, crystal clear audio quality and no risk of bad reception.

But there's still a couple of things you're not so sure about; a couple of the finer and more intricate aspects of Voice over IP systems and technology which you feel you now need to be bought up to speed on, just in case anyone asks. And so here are a couple of things which you may not be aware of - bonus features if you will, to help enhance your Voip experience.

International calls are either something you do a lot or something you barely think of. But regardless of your business or current requirements, no-one knows what the future may bring, and so knowing how to save significant costs when making international calls through your internet system will, at some point, almost certainly come in handy.

The basic process for making international calls via an internet telephony system is much the same as it is with a standard phone system. But this is where the similarities end. Making international call with a Voip phone is not only substantially cheaper as standard, there is also an way to make the calls even cheaper still; by purchasing you're very own unique phone number in a whole other country.

Allow me to explain myself before you cast me off as some slightly confused individual who has spent too much time lost in his own head. If you wish to make cheaper calls to another country, all you need to do is have a separate number assigned for your system inside that particular country. Once you have this separate umber all calls you make to it will be viewed as local calls, not international.

Sounds good, doesn't it? As well as making standard calls internationally, making conference calls internationally through an internet telephone system is also a much cheaper and viable alternative. This is because Voip systems use a dial-out as opposed to a dial-in system, meaning one person can call all the participants for a conference call and therefore negating the requirement of anybody phoning in to the call, and saving significant costs for the participants.

Efforts are continually being made to entice people away from the good old standard and trusted analogue phone system and to embrace Voice over IP technology. The latest attempt at this has been to bring out a range of handsets that can work through any internet telephone system as well as any traditional landline system, offering the advantage of Voip with the comfort of analogue.

As the technology improves, so will the services offered by internet telephone companies, which in turn will encourage more and more people to switch to Voip communication. The negatives of owning such a system are few and far between and with the ever increasing quality of technology and services offered, soon there will be no negatives left, and absolutely no reason to not go Voip.
